Designing a difference for online recruitment

The business challenge was especially difficult because the client was entering into an established job portal market in India. Being a late entrant meant, it was important to differentiate the offerings in the online world from the other established players in this category. The brief therefore, was to conduct strategic product development, as well as design a seamless and appealing user experience.


The team began by mapping competitive offerings from the top 5 players with deep user research across different target segments and product specifications. Using insights gleaned from this exercise, low fidelity prototypes were constructed. These included functionality opportunities as well, and were together tested again with potential users. Finally, the entire UI and interaction design for the product was developed. Job Cheque played a key role in the online recruitment space in the early millennium, and is still a brand well recalled from those times. The project was an important milestone in achieving that brand recall and usage.
